Privacy
Short version: no cookies, no third-party analytics, no accounts. We count visits and clicks to Amazon from our own server logs. Product images load from Amazon, and links take you to Amazon.
Who is responsible
Jakob Baumgärtner, c/o IP-Management #8061, Ludwig-Erhard-Straße 18, 20459 Hamburg, Germany. Email: info@maenner-geschenke-ideen.de. See also the imprint.
Server logs
When you open a page, our web server records the IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser’s user agent. We need this to deliver the site and to detect attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in a secure, working website). The logs are deleted automatically after 14 days. The server is located in Germany.
Visitor statistics
Once a day, a script on our own server reads the logs described above and counts how many people visited, which pages they opened, where they came from (for example a search engine) and how often someone clicked a link to Amazon. When you click a link to Amazon, your browser sends a short signal to our server with the product and the page you clicked on; it is recorded in the same log. We keep only daily totals. They contain no IP addresses and no information that identifies you. Nothing is shared with anyone (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in knowing which pages are useful).
No cookies, no third-party tools
This site sets no cookies and uses no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking tools. The comparison tool and the cost calculator run entirely in your browser; nothing you enter is sent to us.
Product images from Amazon
Product images are loaded directly from Amazon’s image servers (m.media-amazon.com). Your browser connects to Amazon for this and transmits your IP address. We tell your browser not to send the address of the page you are on. Amazon is responsible for this processing; see the Amazon.com Privacy Notice.
Links to Amazon
We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you click a link to Amazon, Amazon learns that you came from this site so that it can credit us with a commission if you buy something. This happens on Amazon’s side, under Amazon’s privacy notice. We receive only aggregated sales figures, never your identity or what you bought personally.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. To use these rights, email us. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
